FROM EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION
TO EXTREME STYLE—DECADES OF STYLE!
BILLINGS, MT – “When I first saw Julie Carter on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition—I knew I wanted to meet her,” says Carol Brumfield, owner of A Head of Our Time. “She is no less inspiring in person, having risen above enormous challenges, she now dedicates time and resources to helping others with Chiari,” says Brumfield.
Julie Carter and two of her daughters have had surgery to try to correct their brain malformation, known as Chiari 1 Malformation. “It's a disease,” says Carter, “That is not rare by a long shot, though few people are aware of it—or how prevalent it is.” And Brumfield wanted to help. So, over a year ago she dreamed of presenting a show to raise money for Chiari People of Montana.
The Decades of Style show is a unique fusion of fashion, hair, music and dance, hosted by Bones Brewing Pub & Eatery, on Saturday May 30th, 2009. The event begins with an exclusive Red Carpet party starring chanteuse, Molly, who will perform songs from the 1920’s and 1930’s, an era when the club scene radiated glamour. Kevin Gordon, General Manager of Bones says, “It’s going to be a cool event.” Gordon and his team will create an array of delicious appetizers and a special cocktail, “Catwalk” just for the lucky party-goers.
And, for those attending the Decades of Style show they will witness an ensemble of talented stylists recreate several decades of history and transform their models into icons of fashion from the 1930’s to today, including a futuristic vision. MC’d by actor/comedienne, Starr, the show promises to be an energetic evening of entertainment. “Be ready for WOW!” says Starr.
“As Montanans, we desire to set an example of cooperation and forward thinking,” says Carter, “And the Decades of Style show does just that. We’re having so much fun.”
Audience can choose to attend the Red Carpet Party and the show for $50, or the Decades of Style show only, for $25. There will be fabulous gift bags for the Red Carpet party attendees—worth much more than the ticket price alone—and fantastic prizes for the show audience too. “So many people and businesses are jumping in to participate, it truly is an exciting event for a worthy cause,” says Brumfield. Proceeds benefit Chiari People of Montana.
